Climbing to the top of Sierra Nevada, either from Pinos Genil or from Monachil, offers a unique opportunity to ride in the footsteps of great cyclists.

This is an 8-day road cycling tour covering approximately 560 kms with 14,500 mts of climbing for 6 cyclists starting at our home-base Cortijo Los Olivos.
Our rooms can accommodate 6 cyclists and consist of the following:
One private double ensuite room: This room contains one spacious comfortable king-size bed with ensuite facilities suitable for a couple.
Two shared twin rooms: These rooms contains two comfortable single beds with ensuite facilities suitable for a couple or two single people.
Single supplement is Euros 80.
Once we leave our home-base at Cortijo Los Olivos, all cyclists and support staff will be housed in different hotels along the tour route; this includes breakfasts and dinners. Cyclists will have available a packed lunch and support vehicle with fruit, gels, water, and tools.
A GPS map of the route will be available to those riders who request this type of information.
Recommended gear ratios are compact or super compact with 11/34 cassettes.

Meet at Los Olivos Cycling Getaways 37°25'58.3"N 3°58'28.4"W on 20 June 2026 to start your tour. Airport pickup plus return from Granada with your bike is 350 Euros, and from Malaga 475 Euros. Personal travel insurance with repatriation to own country is mandatory.

Any guest that has special dietary needs must let us know at the time of booking.
Any guest cyclist that needs his or her bike to be assembled by a qualified mechanic needs to let us know at the time of booking in order to organize this service ahead of time.
All guest cyclists must have cycling experience, and be in good physical condition to be able to ride in varied terrain, taking into account that some of the climbs and descents in this tour are demanding.

IMPORTANT: book your travel to arrive early in Malaga if you need us to pick you up there, or, if you are planning to travel to Los Olivos (Home base) by yourself, plan to arrive before noon if you want to do the 51-km ride to Montefrio and back.
Day 1: arrival at Los Olivos (Home-base) before noon and an optional 51-km ride to Montefrio to loosen your legs.
Day 2: 96km, Home to Purullena
Day 3: 72km Purullena to Bombarón
Day 4: 80km Bombarón to Órgiva.
Day 5: 76km Órgiva to Dúrcal
Day 6: 75km Monachil to top of Sierra Nevada descending to Pinos Genil.
Day 7: 106km Home-base to La Pandera. On the last night there will be a small celebration with a paella dinner and drinks.
Day 8: Final breakfast together and packing bikes to depart.
Your totals are 14,466 mts of climbing in 556 kms of riding – CONGRATULATIONS!
